International Conference

“General and applied phonetics: on the 100th anniversary

of Prof. Lyubov V. Zlatoustova”

 

Dear Colleagues!

We are happy to announce a call for papers for the Conference on the 100th anniversary of Prof. Lyubov V. Zlatoustova. The Conference will be held October 10 – 12, 2024 at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Philology.

 

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

1. General Phonetics. Experimental Phonetics.

Phonetics of spontaneous speech. Segmental and suprasegmental phonetics. Prosody. Current phonetic evolving in Modern Russian. Development of methods of spoken language research: history and current state of the art.

2. Instrumental phonetic research on poetic speech and singing.

3. Corpus linguistics: Speech corpora and phonetic databases.

4. Sociophonetics.

5. Psycholinguistics of speaking.

Speech generation. Speech perception and comprehension. Speech and emotions. Psychological and psychophysiological characteristics of personality in speech. Normal vs pathology speech.

6. Teaching Russian phonetics to a foreign-language audience. Phonetic interference and foreign language accent.

7. Forensic speech examination. Сurrent problems and challenges of forensic speech examination. Speaker recognition (identification and verification). Forensic analysis of digitized and synthesized speech.

8. Phonetics in artificial intelligence systems. Speech technologies. Systems of automatic speech recognition and synthesis. Voice keys. Sound editors as tools for speech analysis. Neural networks for phonetic research (neural network machine translation, etc.).

The conference will feature a round-table discussion on the following topic “Prof. Lyubov V. Zlatoustova's contribution to the development of linguistics. Memories of colleagues and alumni”.

Venue: Moscow, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Humanities I, Faculty of Philology (Moscow, Leninskie Gory, 1, pp. 51).

Dates: 10–12 October 2024.

The conference will be held in the hybrid mode (both in-person and online).

Working languages: Russian, English.

All attendees will get certificates of participation.

Participation in the conference and publication of proceedings are free of charge.

The Proceedings of the conference will be published in digital format.

Materials of the conference will be accessible via the scientific electronic library eLIBRARY.RU, and included in the bibliographic database of Russian scientific (Russian Science Citation Index).

Accommodation and travel expenses are covered by conference participants.

To take part in the Conference, please do the following (deadline: April 30, 2024):

2. Choose one mode of action:

2.2. Choose events calendar «Календарь событий» (top left)

         - Choose the conference

         - Press «Submit» «Подать заявку»

3. Choose the language according to the language of publication (top left – Russian or English).

4. Submit your application.

5. Press “Sеnd”.

The paper title and the abstract’s content should fit the scope of the Conference; otherwise, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject the submitted application.

After registration, the Organizing Committee will confirm receiving one’s application and send them notifications of paper acceptance.

 

The Organizing committee has the right to reject the articles which do not fit to the scope of conference.

The program will be sent to all Conference participants before the meeting.
